Hallelujah sister Jane. I am so past caring what men think about how I look. I wish I had this attitude 20 years ago. I am soon to be 55 and have worn my hair short for the last 15 years because I was over 40. One day last year I decided that when I'm 60, I want a long silver braid so I'm growing out my hair as we speak. It's just below my shoulders and I love french braids. They're soooo cool!

Gina, to your own comments, I want to add that that since I tried this bar 2 or 3 years ago, I have used nothing else. I have very sensitive skin that breaks out easily, and this bar works like magic on it. I love it, and I don't hand out praise like that lightly. This is a wonderful bar of soap, unlike anything available in a store.

Hi Sheri,
You would use a bottle with an orifice reducer top (lets one drop out at a time) or a bottle with a dropper top - that's the easiest way to transfer the eo blends to another bottle. (it's in the article above, but you probably missed that part :).

You can also buy pipettes, but then that's another thing you'll have to buy so it's easier to buy on of the two types of bottles described above.

CO2 extraction is another way that essential oils are extracted from its plant material. The most popular way is called steam distillation which is where steam passes through the plant material and this caused the eo to evaporate with the water. There's more to it, but basically floats on top of the floral water and the eo is separated from the floral water.

With CO2 extraction, there's pressure used but no heat to obtain the eo. Carbon Dioxide is used with varying degrees of pressure to turn the CO2 gas into a liquid, then this liquid is used as a liquid solvent to extract the essential oil.
Again, there's lots more to it and actually a couple different materials obtained from CO2 extraction but hope this helps to explain it a little for you.

Does that help?

Have fun creating your blends and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate from stopping over again and commenting!

Thanks and have a great day.

Thanks Gina, I love the idea of making EO blends as gifts for VD. How would you transfer the blend into another bottle?( I know its probably very obvious once you know!)

I wonder what a CO2 extract is?

If and when you have time to get back to me, I'd appreciate it. If you are too busy, thats ok.
I'm looking forward to creating a few blends! Thanks!

Thanks dM! I also use ical and it automatically syncs with my macbook and iphone - this is such a great help and I also set alerts a lot in ical because with all I have to do, I'd forget half of it if I didn't use the alerts!
My next step is to do like you do and set times up for myself to plow through some projects.
I find that when I start my day off with time for myself, be it even 5 minutes (and I have a great idea with this system and I may be creating an e-book about it) to just get centered, my day flows more, I get less distracted, and I get more done.
I just need to always do this first thing, if I don't, that's when I can get off-center and into trouble :).
Thanks for your help - I appreciate it.

Gina: I'm afraid I have the same relationship with time that you do. I never have enough of it. Recently, it has helped that I have started to use Apple's iCal in conjunction with my iPhone. Syncing the two together helps me schedule everything, including "me" time. I have also begun to time projects so I can give myself an appropriate amount of time to finish them. For example, my newsletter should usually take about the same amount of time to prepare each week. I have started to set aside that amount of time only for it, and it seems to help me remain focused if I can see my time running out. I won't take that phone call or check my email for example, if I know I have only 2 hours to do something. I can just plow through in 2 hours, and be done! I find that working in time blocks help. I suppose you have this already, at least where your salon is concerned, right? Anyway, hope this helps! Thanks!

Thanks for your input Ellen. Everything helps! I've found myself a bit off-center for the last week and things usually start to feel overwhelming for me when I get like this. But I am getting back on track starting today. Slowly, but surely I will come back to center - just more practice and growth :).

Gina, thanks for raising this topic--one I struggle with also. One thing I've always done in scheduling my days that really makes a difference is to "schedule" a margin for the unknown. As a mom, especially, I realize I can't always anticipate what others will need, but I do know that something unexpected always comes up. I always leave room in my day for that something, which means I have time to meet the needs of the people around me, even when those needs were unforeseen. One other thing: I don't worry as much anymore about getting to the bottom of my to-do list because I never will. And if I do, I'll just make another list. Instead I ask myself if I did what was most important to me each day. This way of thinking improves my peace of mind.
